Fundz for software founders

AI made execution free. Knowing first is the whole game now.

As a founder you are the sales team, the competitive analyst and, some quarters, the fundraiser. Fundz does the watching for you: which companies just got a reason to buy what you sell, what your competitors just did, and, when you raise, which investors back companies like yours and who can introduce you.

What Fundz does for a founder

  • Customers to reach today. Every morning, companies that fit the customer you described, ranked by what just happened at each one.
  • Your competitors, watched. Their rounds, launches, new leaders, deals and trademarks at the top of your dashboard.
  • Buying moments. Six cards count the moments when your customers buy: new money, new leaders, new offices, new contracts.
  • Your next raise. Raise capital matches you with investors backing companies like yours, with the warm routes through your own LinkedIn network (Strategic plan).

Set up once (10 minutes)

Do this once. It takes about ten minutes, and it is what turns every number on your dashboard from the whole country into your own market.

  1. Tell Fundz who you sell to. Open your targeting and fill in Target Criteria (industries, company size, locations) and Your Business Profile (a sentence or two on what you do and who for). Every morning Fundz scores the newest companies against these and fills Customers to reach today on your dashboard. How Daily Leads work
  2. Make your plays count your territory. While your cards still count the whole market, a Make these numbers yours box appears under Your plays this week on your dashboard. It asks where you work, which industries and what company sizes, starting from the targeting you already gave. Save it and every card that can be narrowed shows In your saved filters, with your own count beside the whole-market number. It only fills lists you have not set up yet, so it never overwrites a filter you built.
  3. Add your competitors. At the top of your dashboard, click Add competitors and type up to eight names. If one is not in Fundz yet, the list says so.
  4. Connect your inbox so SmartSend can send from your own Gmail or Outlook, and connect HubSpot or Salesforce if you use one. SmartSend
Not sure what to type? Use the Ask or tell Fundz anything box on your dashboard and say it in your own words, for example "companies in Texas with 50 to 500 employees that just raised". Talk to Fundz

Your daily routine (15 minutes)

About 15 minutes, top to bottom of your dashboard. The page is laid out in the order you work it.

Before the rest
Your competitors lately
The list at the very top of your dashboard: rounds, launches, new leaders, deals and trademarks at the companies you compete with, from the last 90 days. Click Add competitors (or Edit list) and type up to eight names. Each row is labelled Raised, Launched, New leader, Deal or Trademark and opens the details.
Minute 1
Read your Daily Intelligence Brief
On the Pro and Strategic plans, a short, plain-words summary of what happened overnight at companies you care about. Each item carries a suggested next step and, where Fundz has the right person, a SmartSend button and Add to targets. Daily Briefing
Minutes 2 to 8
Work Customers to reach today
The companies picked for you today, ranked by what just happened at each one and how well it fits your targeting. Each row says why it is here. Pick the two or three you would most like to sell to, open the company, and either SmartSend the right person or press Add to targets to work it over the next few weeks.
Minutes 8 to 15
Clear Today
One list of the companies you are already working: who replied, which follow-ups are due and what just happened at your targets. Deal with each row right there. Press Handled once you have answered a reply. How Today works

Raised & Hiring: your warmest prospects

Raised & Hiring lists companies that raised money in the last 12 months and are posting jobs now. For a software founder the open roles are a map of the pain: a company hiring three support agents may need your support tool, a company hiring its first data engineer may need your data product. Filter to your customer's industry, open the companies with the most relevant roles, and reach the head of that team.

Office expansions: watch peers and prospects

Office Expansions shows companies taking new office space or building one out, from public-company lease filings and city building permits. Use it two ways: prospects adding sites often need more seats of what you sell, and competitors adding sites tell you where they are investing. Office Expansions

When it is time to raise

On the Strategic plan, Raise capital (in the sidebar under Investors) finds the investors backing companies like yours.

  1. Say what your company does, pick your sectors and where you are, and say how much you are raising.
  2. Fundz lists the investors writing checks into companies like yours right now, with who to approach at each fund.
  3. Upload your LinkedIn connections (the Connections.csv file inside the data archive LinkedIn emails you) and each investor shows who in your network can introduce you. Start with a warm route.

The Founders tab under Your plays this week, set to Raise capital, shows the same list with new funds and rounds that just closed. Each investor's page shows how they invest, the stages they write into, their typical round size and who they invest alongside. Browse investors

Reach the right person

  1. Open the company. Every company name on your dashboard opens its page: what just happened, funding history, hiring, momentum and the people. Company profiles
  2. Find the person who owns the problem you solve. Search the company's people for free, then press Reveal email only on the person worth reaching. A reveal uses one contact credit.
  3. SmartSend. Fundz drafts a short email that mentions the event, you edit it, and it goes from your own inbox. Follow-ups stop when they reply on Outlook, and wait for your OK on Gmail. SmartSend
  4. Or warm it up first. Engage matches the signals at your target companies to your own LinkedIn connections, so you can start with someone you already know.

What to say

Hi Chris, congrats on the raise. I am the founder of a small team building a tool for exactly the reporting headache you will hit as you add customers. Would you be open to 15 minutes? I would love your honest take even if the timing is wrong.
Hi Mia, I saw you are hiring your first two data engineers. Before they start, it might be worth seeing how teams your size skip the first six months of pipeline work. Happy to show you in 15 minutes.

Troubleshooting

The numbers look like the whole country

You have not saved a territory yet. Use Make these numbers yours under Your plays this week, or set your targeting. A card marked Whole market is a signal that cannot be narrowed to a territory, so it always counts everything.

A card says zero in my saved filters

Nothing new happened inside your filter in that window. The card also shows the whole-market count, so you can widen the filter or open the full list.

A page in this playbook is missing from my menu

Your sidebar shows the pages for your role. Click All tools at the bottom of the sidebar to see everything. The same button then reads as your role's view (for example Recruiter view), which takes you back.

My daily list is empty

Your targeting needs industries, company size, locations and a business profile before leads can be scored. Finish or widen your targeting and leads arrive the next morning.
